Alternative Consumer Dispute Resolution
In the event of a consumer dispute, consumers may refer the matter to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) entity under applicable Portuguese law.

For services provided in Barcelos and other municipalities within its territorial remit, one of the competent entities is CIAB — Centro de Informação, Mediação e Arbitragem de Consumo (Consumer Information, Mediation and Arbitration Centre).

Finding the competent entity
The competent entity may depend on where the contract was concluded or performed and on the nature of the dispute. Consumers can consult the official list of ADR entities published by Portugal’s Directorate-General for Consumer Affairs (Direção-Geral do Consumidor).
